General and Karate

A mix of pictures from around Okinawa

Naga and Ne Waza traning hall at the Budokan.

Although this room is used less than most of the others, a few of us are regular visitors to the Judo Dojo.

Chris Sensei with Bakkies Sensei

Bakkies Laubscher Sensei is a Vice Chairman of the IOGKF, as well as the Chief Instructor of the South African Goju-ryu Karate-do Association, SAGA.

Singapore represented

At the 2004 Budosai, 6 members attended under the Singapore banner. We may have a small group, but we try to put forth maximal effort to make up for it!

Concrete temple

I really like the architechture and construction of this temple. I think it would be an almost ideal design for a Dojo of my own. One day...

Miyagi AnIchi Sensei

Here Miyagi AnIchi Sensei demonstrates Tensho. One of the very few remaining students of the Founder of Goju Ryu, Miyagi Chojun Sensei, Miyaigi AnIchi Sensei still keeps an active training and teaching schedule, focusing most of his attention on Higaonna Sensei.

This way the true teachings of okinawan Goju Ryu may be passed directly from Teacher to Pupil.

Three legends on Stage

From left to right: Miyagi AnIchi Sensei Aragaki Shuichi Sensei and Higaonna Morio Sensei. There is well over a hundred-and-fifty years of Karate experience on that stage.

This is one of my favorite images

A well dressed group about to leave for a sayonara party. Peter Shane in unfortunately not pictured, as he was the man behind the lens.
