| Special Circumstances
Under certain special circumstances, some junior Karateka who are not yet of an age to be graded according to the official IOGKF syllabus may be given a special belt as recognition of their efforts as growing Karateka. Those under the age of six will be graded with stripes on their White Belt, to a maximum of 8 red stripes before receiving the special belt. They may then grade to a maximum of 8 further red stripes before becoming eligible for 10th Kyu in the General stream. For these juniors, the focus is on fun and fitness, while learning manners, and positive social interaction. |
